Denise, my wife, and soulmate, a wonderful mother and grandmother, has poly-cystic kidney disease. It was discovered after the birth of our second child. You would never know she is sick, because she has kept a positive outlook, maintained a healthy lifestyle, has been an avid runner, and has stayed active in her work and her church. She has given my life purpose, and I cannot imagine my life without her. 

While most expenses for a living donor are covered fully, their travel expenses and their time off from work is not. We hope to be able to assist a donor, so there is zero cost to them.

September 25, 2018, Denise was admitted to St. Thomas Rutherford after an echo-cardiagram found fluid around her heart. Her kidney function had been at 7% for months, and we were holding out on dialysis as long as possible, in hopes of a transplant coming through. She is near the top of the list at Vanderbilt, and because she has maintained her health, her doctors say she is still a perfect candidate for a transplant. Unfortunately, because of the fluid, she is now on dialysis. We spent 5 days and nights at St. Thomas, and she underwent two surgeries to place catheters for dialysis. We have been training every day, while she has dialysis, on how to do the dialysis at home while she sleeps. This will allow her to eventually get back to work at MTSU.
