First of all thank you, for taking the time out of your day to read this. It is with great humbleness that I write this request for donations to help with a surgery I desperately need. Let me give you a little background. At the age of 8 I was diagnosed with rheumatic fever, in which my heart valve was damaged and needed to be replaced. The late Dr. Denton Cooley did my open heart surgeries. I now have an artificial, St Jude’s mechanical valve. At the age of 12 I was in need of another surgery because I was outgrowing my original placement. At the age of 31 I suffered a stroke that temporarily left me paralyzed without speech. I suffered an enormous amount of pain in my head due to the nerves rejoining themselves. The pain was so severe that I clenched my jaw to the point where I broke my back teeth. Crowns were put in place to cover the damaged teeth.
To the grace of God I fully recovered from the stroke within two and a half years. During all of this I was also struggling to be a mom to a wonderful 9 year old boy. Now, one of the repaired teeth has broken again at its root causing an infection in my jaw bone. I am in dire need of oral surgery. Along with the infection to my bone the surgeon has informed me of a possible tumor. My history of stroke and heart valve replacement puts me at even a greater risk during this essential surgery. I take an anticoagulant to protect my valve. The procedure does not allow me to be on my medication due to excessive blood loss. Being without an anticoagulant also puts me at risk for a clot. So, I’m in a terrible position. It comes down to having faith and my trust in God that all will be well. The past two weeks I’ve been in and out of the hospital. This has caused me to lose countless hours from work. I am covered under insurance but my financial responsibility is great. This will be the beginning of many doctor visits with the surgeon, dentist and cardiologist. My concern is that I don’t have the funds for the surgery. I so desperately need this surgery before the infection starts affecting my heart. I’m asking for your donation in any amount to help me cover the surgery and possible loss of wages. Honestly, I’m scared for my life and the welfare of my son. If you are unable to donate I ask that you please keep me in your most earnest prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your consideration.
