KROUSAA | FAMILY | គ្រួសារ is inspired by the true stories of the Cambodian genocide, specifically a child's harrowing attempt to escape the Khmer Rouge by hiding in a truck filled with the dead. It is a tribute to Cambodia, its people, and the millions of lives forever changed by genocide.

Filmed in Kampong Cham Province, KROUSAA | FAMILY | គ្រួសារ was brought to life by an extraordinary cast and crew, the majority of whom are based in Phnom Penh. From the beginning, we were committed to investing back into the local community by hiring Cambodian actors, filmmakers, artists, and craftspeople throughout the production.

The film was written by Kanica Suy (Cultivate Entertainment), produced by Caylee So (Director of "In the Life of Music" and Co-Founder of the Cambodia Town Film Festival), and directed by Chandy Sum, a documentary filmmaker.
