Il 6 e 7 giugno, al Municipio Sociale Làbas di Bologna, si terrà il festival “Kronika: voci di resistenza da est”, organizzato da Memorial Italia ed EastJournal.

Due giorni di incontri, dibattiti, musica e proiezioni per raccontare storie di lotta, dissenso e repressione nei paesi dell’Europa orientale. Voci dall’interno che vivono in prima persona questi fenomeni: li testimoniano, li documentano, li raccontano, animando anche lo spazio pubblico di chi li osserva da lontano.

Si passerà dalle proteste di piazza in Georgia alle occupazioni delle università in Serbia, dagli esperimenti illiberali dell’Europa centro-orientale all’autoritarismo consolidato di Russia e Bielorussia. Sullo sfondo, i racconti di una guerra interminabile: le vicissitudini di un paese, l’Ucraina, e della sua gente.

Kronika vuole essere uno spazio di riflessione critica e di aperto confronto su alcuni dei fenomeni più rilevanti che da anni attraversano l’Europa e ne determinano l’attualità socio-politica. Non vuole stimolare soltanto l’interesse di chi ascolta, ma anche la sua partecipazione attiva al dialogo, nella consapevolezza che alla base di una solida coscienza civile non può che esserci una conoscenza diffusa e accessibile a chiunque.

The festival “Kronika: voices of resistance from the East,” organized by Memorial Italia and EastJournal, will take place on June 6 and 7 at the Làbas Social Municipality in Bologna.

Two days of talks, debates, music, and screenings to tell stories of struggle, dissent, and repression in Eastern European countries. We will hear the voices from within: the voices of people who experience these phenomena firsthand. They bear witness, they document, they share their stories, bringing distant realities closer and shaping how they are understood by those observing from afar.

The program spans street protests in Georgia, university occupations in Serbia, illiberal experiments across Central and Eastern Europe, and the entrenched authoritarianism of Russia and Belarus. In the background runs the story of an unending war, affecting Ukraine and the lives of its people.

Kronika aims to provide a space for critical reflection and open dialogue on the forces that have shaped Europe for years and continue to define its socio-political landscape. It is not just about sparking interest in these topics, but also about actively engaging the public. We believe that a strong civic consciousness rests on knowledge that is shared and accessible to all.
