After over 11 inches of rain overnight on August 20th when the Black Earth Creek flooded our town of Mazomanie the flood waters collapsed the foundation wall on the entire west side of our house as we were evacuating and filled our basement up to the ceiling.
Insurance will not cover anything at all because we aren't in the flood plain and didn't have flood insurance on our policy.
We will need to get the house jacked up, dig out, and have a new foundation foundation built. We are hearing estimates of at least $30K to $50k and more, before getting to the new furnace, water heater, etc.
It is humbling to have to ask for help. Any small amount you can give would be appreciated to help us on the long road ahead to recovering our home.
Fortunately we are safe, and currently living with Carol's parents until we can figure out what is next.
