Nursing School

Hi, my name is Brianna Heleny. I am 25 years old. I live in houston, TX. I am currently a nursing student aspiring to be a nurse one day. I am being asked by my school to pay my balance in order to continue with my degree in which I am 79% done with. I don't like to ask for much, but I need a lot of help with covering my tuition in order to continue my degree.

I began my degree with Chamberlain University in the beginning of 2020. Tuition costs around 41k per year. I was able to get financial aid to help me with the first half of this cost, but I currently owe close to 20k. Moreover, I still have 1 year left of school in which I plan to pay for with the loan that Chamberlain offers. But first, in order to qualify for that loan, I need to have all my current balances paid off. I currently work 40hr/week as a student, and what I make is barley enough to cover living, transportation, and basic necessities. I have found it really difficult to be able to afford my tuition at Chamberlain as $20,000 is a lot in times like this, while being a full-time student, aside from personal battles I have been dealing with.

In 2017, I was diagnosed with lupus/ lupus nephritis. Because of the great care I received as a patient, I was inspired to share some resilience with others. As I spent a lot of my time in-and-out of hospitals, I also gained much exposure to nursing. Having talked to a lot of nurses there, I formed a keen interest in the procedures they were performing, as well as the medications they were administering. Learning new things while in and out of appointments and the hospital only served to spike my interest in nursing. In addition, the outstanding care and comfort I received from all of the nurses at the hospital cemented my appreciation for the field and my desire to become a nurse myself.

Recently, my health has began depleting after being strong for the last 5 years (a story for another time <3 ). Due to this, it has made a lot of things harder than they should be for someone the age of 25. Financially, this has not been easy either, as you can imagine the price we pay for some decent health insurance in America.

I have already invested a large chunk of money and time to my current degree and I certainly will not stop my education just because of a disease that has a hold on me. I will continue being strong through all my hardships and continue to dream, aspire and grow as an adult, regardless of the time I have left.

If I do not pay these fees, I risk the chance of being dropped from my classes, only prolonging my education, with the risk of being dismissed from the program. Not to mention that my credits cannot transfer to another university.

I am humbly coming to you to ask for any contribution towards finishing my degree.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and support. I appreciate you!
