When someone you love does something incredible, you want to tell the world.  Let me tell you about my best friend Kristyn Dorney. She is an amazing woman that has lost over 130 pounds and is a true inspiration to her family, friends and others around her. 

She started her journey in 2011 when she had a minor health scare with high blood pressure. At that point she decided it was time to lose weight. At her heaviest Kristyn weighed 283 pounds.    From 2011-2014 she lost over 50 pounds with mild exercise and watching what she ate. During this time her weight would go up and down without consistent results.  In October 2014, she decided that it was time to get serious and invest in her future.  Kristyn started working with a strength and nutrition coach.  Her coach taught her how to properly fuel her body and how to exercise the correct way.  In those two years of her journey, she lost an additional 80 pounds and over 13% of her body weight. Her current weight is 150 pounds! 

Throughout this journey, Kristyn has surprised and amazed herself by smashing goal after goal.  She had struggles with plateaus like many others often do, but she and her coach would assess the issue and get back on track. 

Kristyn has had and continuous to have an amazing support system with people that have never doubted her abilities. She has an amazing coach, probably one of the best in the business.  But the most important thing was and is, believing in herself.  The more weight she lost the more she wanted this for herself. 

Kristyn is an amazing person who has raised me up through every situation and battle I have ever encountered in the last 22 years. It’s time that I do something amazing for her!  With excessive weight loss you develop excessive amounts of loose skin on every area of your body.  Sometimes this skin shrinks back down and other times it just hangs around and is only going to go away by surgery.  Surgery can cost $10,000 - $20,000 which is a strong pill to swallow.  Kristyn has worked hard to get healthier, but now is stuck in a rut of trying to cover up her excess skin every day.

Kristyn would never put together a page like this but I know her family and friends will support her during this journey. This is a great way to show your love and support for her.  Let’s help make Kristyn’s dream of getting this extra skin removed so she can feel more confident in her own skin.  We may not raise all the money for Kristyn and that is okay.  I think any amount raised would bring Kristyn closer to reality with this type of surgery.  Let us rally together to support this amazing woman that has touched the lives of so many people!
