Kristy O'Malley, beloved by many, died suddenly on May 21, 2021, leaving her family and friends heartbroken and yearning to do something meaningful in her name. A brilliant writer and editor, Kristy modeled journalistic integrity and welcomed informed debates about various current and historical events. An advocate for the disenfranchised, Kristy was passionate about women's rights, education, and civil liberties. She loved her family, friends, and all dogs fiercely, showering them with thoughtful gifts, handwritten cards, and ear scratches. In addition, she adored sports, The Dave Matthews Band, science fiction, and generally enjoying life. Kristy made a lasting impact on everyone who crossed her path, making sure we all felt acknowledged and loved. In honor of her caring and glowing spirit, her friends and family have created the Kristy O'Malley Foundation to ensure her legacy will positively impact generations of women to walk through life with passion, purpose, and fun.

The Kristy O'Malley Foundation will create and maintain a memorial scholarship designed to help women in need with future college costs. Right now, specifics, such as school and region, are being worked out.
