Kristy and Josh Need Your Help

Hi there, I'm Kristy, Josh's wife.

As many of you know, Josh's brain cancer journey has changed nearly every part of our lives. Since his 2024 diagnosis with Oligodendroglioma, he has undergone brain surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and the long, complicated process of trying to rebuild a life that looks different than the one we had before. This certainly was not on our Bingo card, but we didn't come this far just to come this far, as they say.

We are raising funds to help Josh continue receiving the support, care, and resources he needs as he heals and moves forward. Your generous donations fund the many additional costs that come with cancer — PT and OT, gadgets that aid Josh's left-side mobility recovery, travel to his doctors at Mount Sinai and MD Anderson, medical bills, and the day-to-day support that allows Josh to keep focusing on his health, his work, and his quality of life.

Josh has fought this with an incredible amount of strength, composure, and heart. Even on the hardest days, he has continued to show up for the people around him. Our hope is to give him every possible tool, resource, and layer of support as he continues this journey.

Any donation, share, or word of encouragement means more to us than we can properly express. Thank you for loving Josh, supporting our family, and helping us carry what has often felt impossible to carry alone.

If you're uncomfortable donating through GoFundMe, you're welcome to contribute via Venmo to @KristyBottini. Also, give us a follow on Instagram or Facebook— @HellOrHighTumor. We make videos about our experiences with brain cancer while giving advice on how to navigate such a circumstance. We also sprinkle in a bit of fun, because f*ck you cancer, that's why.

A bit of a backstory on how we found out about Josh's brain tumor. In December 2024, Josh had 3 grand mal seizures in a row, which resulted in an ambulance rushing him to the hospital. He had never had seizures before, so it was terrifying to witness. After a CT scan, doctors determined Josh had a clementine-sized tumor on the right frontal lobe of his brain. The neurology team guessed that it had been growing for nearly 10 years.

After that, it was a bit of a whirlwind. We had no idea how to navigate such a massive diagnosis. I mean, brain cancer, right? It took a lot of research, advocating, and speaking to the right people. One thing we've learned is that you can't accept the first opinion you get.

All that to say, it's been a ride. We couldn't have gotten through any of this without the support of family, friends, and strangers. Your kindnesses are duly noted, let us tell ya. If anyone out there has questions or just wants to complain about brain cancer to people who know exactly what you're talking about, we're your people. Send us a message and we'll help in any way we can. Thank you so much! xoxo, J + K
