Hi there,
I'm reaching out on behalf of dear friends, Josh and Kristy Bottini, who are facing an incredibly difficult chapter. At just 34 and only six months into marriage, Josh was diagnosed with Oligodendroglioma (Grade 2 brain cancer) in December 2024. Since then, he’s undergone surgery (removing 99% of the tumor), radiation, and is now undergoing a seven-month chemotherapy plan. During all of this, Josh and Kristy have had to take a step back from working and focus on Josh's care.
As they wait for Josh's disability to go through, they are getting by from donations and the little income provided by Kristy's home health/caregiver position.
For those who don’t know them: Josh and Kristy have spent their careers in hospitality, always putting others first. Despite everything, they’ve kept working as much as they're able to—often out of necessity, not choice.
As Kristy shoulders managing Josh's care, keeping their household running, and assisting in the work projects they've had to keep on, it leaves little time for anything else. To be frank, it's been a very stressful and emotional 12 months.
They will continue to live with managing this brain tumor for the rest of their lives, as in many cases, Grade 2 Oligodendrogliomas recur down the road.
Asking for help hasn’t been easy for them, but the need continues to be very real. Any financial contribution means the world! Your donation will be put towards ongoing necessities like medical grade cleaning supplies, food, rent, and any lingering hospital bills (currently at $15k). You are also welcome to contribute via Venmo at @KristyBottini.
If you are more inclined to send them something tangible, that would also be super helpful! Please follow the link to their Amazon Wishlist (https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/owner-view/2UQXKEV6WKYRY?ref_=list_d_gl_lfu_nav) .
Thanks so much for reading and supporting them. If you’d like to follow along on their journey, you can do so on Instagram or Facebook: @hellorhightumor.
Warmly,
Katie
