Kristin Ladd’s "Lump" in the road

Hello, friends and family of the Ladds. This GoFund Me account is being established to help ease the unexpected financial burden on Kristin Ladd and her family as they navigate this recent diagnosis. Please read below to learn just a little about this amazing family.

Kristin is a loving and dedicated Wife to her husband of 12 years, Ricky. Their pride and joy is their 10-year-old son Thomas who loves spending time racing go-carts and spending time in the outdoors. Kristin works as a Pharmacy Technician at Memorial Regional Hospital and is in her final semester of Respiratory Therapy school. Ricky, in addition to his full-time job in the private sector as a project manager for confined space and site safety services, has dedicated 16 years of service to Hanover Fire and EMS as a Firefighter and member of the Hanover Fire and EMS Honor Guard. The Ladd family is the first to offer a kind word, a place to stay, a helping hand, or a fresh cup of coffee to their family and friends. The Ladd family knows no strangers, treats everyone like a member of their own family, and expects nothing in return.

On January 7th, Kristin noticed a lump on her left breast that was of concern. She promptly notified her primary care physician. They immediately scheduled Kristin for a mammogram and ultrasound on January 31st. A biopsy was performed on February 2nd. On February 3rd, Kristin was informed of her diagnosis of a 5-centimeter mass of metaplastic carcinoma. Kristin’s projected treatment, while daunting, is promising, and her dedicated team of specialists who are confident that with aggressive treatment, this will be just a “lump in the road.”
