Kristine Near's ALS Fund
Donation protected
As some of you know, my mom, Kristine Near was diagnosed with ALS June of 2020, while experiencing symptoms Fall of 2019.
ALS is a rapidly progressive disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. Once these nerve cells degenerate and die, the muscles connected to them gradually weaken and soon the brain cannot control voluntary muscle movement.
There is no known cause , and no known cure.
We are hoping this fund can help take some pressure off the family when it comes to making sure Kristine has the proper devices and accessible home remodels (such as ramps, power wheelchairs, walk in showers, etc) to help her continue to be independent as possible as the disease progresses.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support as we navigate this difficult time.
