On July 29th, 2018 about 10PM, my daughter was taken by her husband to Monticello ER Hospital in MN as she was unresponsive. She had been to the same ER a week before and was tested for various things but those were negative and she continued to be sick in bed for a week until July 29th. On that night in the ER they did a spinal puncture and other testing then within minutes she was transported by ambulance to St Cloud Hospital MN. There were times Kristina barely responded and sometimes by hand signals only and at times not at all. Her fever was high and she was given several strong antibiotics and fluids and medicines in her PICC line. Kristina was put through an incredible amount of various testing. She had EEG’s, MRI’s, CT scan, Angiogram and 2 spinal punctures. I cant remember all the other testing. The neuro and infectious disease doc’s could not figure what she had or why. At one point when Kristina couldn’t speak and her eyes were slits. That was the worse day and I watched her breathing praying she would take another. That same day the neuro doc said Kristina had some kind of brain infection and it was progressing and to look at long term hospitalization. He said some patients respond to a protein plasma and steroids. The docs begin Kristina on this regimen. The very next day Kristina spoke, she whispered and her speech was hard to make out but she had miraculously come back. Each day she spoke better. Today she is on her way to recovery. They need help and being a mom who is extremely concerned for this loving, happy new family I want to see if we can raise funds for some of their medical bills. They do have insurance but the amount that insurance won’t cover will be lots. God bless and please keep praying for my beautiful daughters continued successful full recovery.
