Help Kristina Fight Her Reoccurring Cancer
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our best friend, Kristina, who is facing an incredibly difficult journey. Her mouth cancer has returned just three months after her last operation and a 6 month battle, which is a devastating set-back.
This return of the cancer is quite rare and she is now preparing for an even more complex operation.
On Monday, 14th December, Kristina will undergo a major 10-hour surgery in which surgeons will remove a section of her jaw and rebuild it using bone from her leg. She will also require a tracheotomy to help her breathe during her recovery. After the operation, she will spend time in the high-dependency unit and around two weeks in hospital, right over the Christmas period.
Kristina is self-employed, and this operation means she will be unable to work for at least four months. Her daughter Scarlett will do her best to keep Kristina’s beloved pamper party business going, but only on a much smaller scale while caring for her mum and younger sisters. Losing Kristina’s income during this long recovery adds a huge financial weight at the worst possible time.
This GoFundMe has been created to help cover the costly specialist consultations and treatments Kristina hopes to pursue after surgery. These integrative medicines and therapies and lifestyle-supporting treatments will give her the best possible chance of preventing the cancer from returning yet again, but they come with significant costs that she cannot manage alone.
Kristina is one of the bravest, genuine , most hard-working people you could ever meet. She fought her first battle with cancer quietly with courage and grace, but this time she needs her friends and community around her. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden on her and her family and support her through this long and difficult journey.
Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, and keeping Kristina and her daughters Scarlett, Rosa & Sophia in your thoughts. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to Kristina and her daughters.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Debs, Bec and Karen xx
