In November 2023, our family lost my sister, Kristin Brown. She was a devoted mother, a proud Frederick High School alumna, and a passionate believer in community, democracy, and the power of kindness and showing up for others.

To honor her memory, we are creating The Kristin Brown Legacy Fund — a way to continue the values she lived every day: resilience, leadership, and service.

In 2024, we raised over $1000, providing four high school students with college scholarships!

Our Goals:

1. Annual Scholarship at Frederick High School – supporting students who demonstrate leadership, civic engagement, or perseverance in the face of challenges.

2. Mini-Grants for Leadership Opportunities – helping young women, single parents, or emerging leaders attend trainings, conferences, and programs that could shape their future.

3. Annual Day of Service – rallying family, friends, and the community to give back together in her honor.

Why This Matters

My sister knew firsthand the challenges of financial struggles as a single mom. She also believed deeply in the importance of civic engagement and creating a better future for the next generation. By funding scholarships, grants, and service projects, we ensure that her legacy lives on — opening doors for others just as she always wished she could.
