Newlywed's house burnt down
Donation protected

When I answered the phone on June 1st, I could tell Kristin was crying. The first thing she said was, "my house just burnt down."
Kristin and Arjan just got married February 20th 2016. They bought their first house, remodeled it, and we're about to leave for their honeymoon just next week. Yesterday, on June 1st, Kristin received a frantic call from her new husband that their house was on fire! Apparently a fire had started by her neighbor and travelled across their yard, burning everything to a crisp. They had a backyard chicken coop with 4 new baby chicks and 3 adult chickens who were locked inside and burnt alive. Also, they had a bunny who was trapped in his cage and also was found dead when they were able to put out the flames. Her cat was found alive in one of the closets, but all of her other animals died.
Kristin is my best friend and receiving that call was the most unreal moment of my life.
I hope to raise a little bit of money for them as they rebuild their new life together.
Anything is greatly appreciated.
Here are some news stories:
Sacbee news story. The chickens were actually locked in the cage though.
News story about the fire. 60% of their home damaged.
