Kristie desperately needs life saving transplant
Donation protected
I first met Kristie, a 40 year old single mother with two teenage boys, in early 2020 when she was forced to move in with her parents (my next door neighbors) as a result of kidney failure. Kristie’s disease requires extensive medical care including dialysis three time per week making it impossible for her to continue to work. Kristie is a very sweet, kind, caring person and an avid animal lover as am I. When she moved home she had four cats left over from her animal rescue days. One of her cats Alfie decided to move in with me as if he knew that Kristie’s finances were thin. I adopted Alfie and Kristie and I became very close friends chatting with each other about the cats on a daily basis.
Over the past three years Kristie has been battling this disease with frequent stays in the hospital due to life threatening complications. Kristie has a fighting spirit and a strong will to live. After a long, nasty and scary battle she has finally been added to the kidney/pancreas transplant list through the Jackson Memorial Hospital Transplant Center in Miami Florida. There is good news and bad news. Due to her rare blood type it will be harder to find a suitable donor but she is number one on that list.
For Kristie to receive the kidney/pancreas transplant that is needed to save her life she will have to live in the Miami area for some time before and after surgery. Her insurance will not cover her living expenses in Miami such as transportation, lodging, and meals. Not to mention that her insurance will only cover 80 percent of her medical expenses. This makes it extremely important that she has the necessary funding to go to Miami when she gets that life saving call from the transplant center.
We really need to make this happen for Kristie. That is why I am asking for your assistance to help fund Kristie’s transplant. Together we can make this miracle come true for her. Every contribution will be a tremendous gift regardless of the dollar amount. I’m sure we can all come together to reach a goal of $25,000. That should get it done and keep Kristie in our lives for years to come.
Thank you
