Our very special friend, Kristi Colasanto, is currently experiencing a very low and trying point in her life. Kristi is no stranger to trauma and difficulties in her life, but Kristi really needs help from friends and family to get through this current struggle. Everyone that knows, or has met Kristi, instantly falls in love with that happy energetic personality that she shares. Unfortunately, on December 11, 2021 Kristi took a terrible fall that shattered her shoulder and humerus bone. If that was not bad enough, she was immediately sent home from the hospital because she was diagnosed with COVID. Kristi spent 19 agonizing days at home suffering through COVD symptoms and trying to deal with the excruciating pain from the damaged bones. Once the COVID symptoms had cleared, Kristi had her 1st surgery to repair the damage. After weeks and weeks of pain and no improvement, Kristi’s Dr. decided that he would redo what he did with a reverse shoulder operation. Again, after that procedure, Kristi’s condition was not improving, and she knew that something was very wrong due to unbearable pain. Kristi then decided to seek alternate opinions and found a Dr at Mass General that specialized in difficult shoulder surgery. Kristi was operated on to address some bone and nerve issues and inner tissue samples were drawn at that time for further testing. This operation did not help Kristi with pain but did ultimately reveal that she had an infection in the work that was done by the previous Dr and needed to be all removed! Kristi then went in for her 4th surgery to remove everything and have a temporary implant installed to fight the infection that had set in. Kristi is currently being administered IV antibiotics for a 6 to 8 week period to kill the infection so this Dr can perform her next operation to reconstruct her entire shoulder and arm. Even with success, Kristi will never have full use of her left arm and this type of reverse shoulder procedure will need to be changed out every 10 years!

As I stated earlier Kristi is no stranger to difficulties in life and I know her to be a true warrior! Unfortunately this pain that she has to endure daily, and the fact that she has lost her ability to perform simple tasks has really taken a physical and mental toll on Kristi. With all of the physical and mental issues, she also has the worries of paying the exorbitant medical bills of which many are not being covered by her insurance company. Kristi is currently dealing with out of network issues due to the current Dr being at Mass General, and all of the in home nurses and IV antibiotic treatments are out of pocket!

The most important gift anyone can give to Kristi now is prayer and positive thoughts. That being said, Kristi could really use some financial help to pay some of these medical bills that are truly stacking up. It would help so much if she had that one less thing to worry about in these trying times for her. I really wish I could take away the physical and mental pain. Unfortunately I can’t do that. Only time can help. But we can do what I can to help her with the financial struggles! And this is why we have started a Go fund me site for people to help Kristi get though this trying time! Please pray for positive results so Kristi can get the next surgery to reconstruct her arm and shoulder! She needs to get into recovery and rehabilitation mode as soon as she can!
