My mother, Kristen Hildreth, is the strongest person I know. Kristen is a wonderful wife and loving mother to 4 adult children and 4 adopted special-needs children, the youngest of which is 3 years old. She has battled pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to her lungs and now, possibly, her liver for the last couple years. Her treatment options in Florida have run dry and she has been recommended to go to MD Anderson in Texas for a new lung treatment that unfortunately they need help affording. Here's the breakdown for clarity:
-$7,500 for insurance deductible
-$2000 for hotel/AirBnB for the 3 weeks of treatment
- $1,500 for travel expenses, food and medication
-$4000 for home infusion treatment to help her lungs, as she is starting to struggle with breathing
Her mother, my beloved grandmother Donna, died exactly a year ago from the same cancer. The loss has been staggering and the thought of losing her so soon afterwards is more than we can bear. Her children- my younger adopted siblings- deserve having a mother to raise them for as long as possible. We ask for your thoughts and prayers during this time and appreciate anything you can do. Feel free to reach out for any questions or concerns you may have.
