Kristen's Home

My dear friend, Kristen Nelson, former principal of Las Palmas Elementary School and current principal of RH Dana Elementary School, has been experiencing a huge landslide at her home in the past few months due to the winter rains and most recently a hurricane. Her home is very much in danger as the landslide destroyed her entire backyard along with a few other neighbor’s yards. As of right now, her home is standing with very little backyard left as the photo show (green house). The landslide is within feet of her home and the landslide continues to move.

The cost to secure and save her home has come in at hundreds and thousands of dollars and homeowner's insurance does not cover any part of the cost. In addition, there will be thousands of dollars needed for city permits and inspections as well. Kristen is pursuing loans to help cover as much of the cost as possible yet will not be able to fund the full amount. Kristen has helped so many families in the San Clemente and Dana Point community and it didn’t seem right to not try to do something (however small) to show her support during this challenging time. As many remember, she also lost her husband to cancer several years ago and is doing her best to support her two daughters through their college years.
