Kristen's Battle With Autoimmune Encephalitis

Donation protected

About a year ago, 16-year-old gifted student, Kristen Robinson, was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis. This disease occurs when the body's immune system attacks the brain and spinal cord causing inflammation in the brain. Before this disease struck Kristen, she was an active young woman in school, taking advanced college classes, and was even in her school’s gifted program. At the age of 3, she was already writing little stories and held onto a creative spirit. Kristen was full of life, her smile was contagious and all of her classmates admired her.

She was one with nature and thrived in the outdoors. Kristen always helped others. In addition to that, she had a phenomenal mind and was very creative; she enjoyed the arts through her music, paintings, poems, fantastic ideas, and
was even writing a book. She also adored photography and took photography and creative writing classes at school. She was a beacon of light in dark times to everyone who knew her.

Unfortunately, today Kristen is cognitively like a 5-year-old girl and her condition worsens daily. There have been attempts at treatments in the past that have unfortunately not worked out. There is an autoimmune encephalitis team that has been searching for other treatments for Kristen. She has been left nonverbal and physically impaired- depending 100% on her parents. This dependency has taken a strong toll on her family: emotionally and monetarily.

With these donations, we will be able to cover the cost of treatment and medical expenses that are not covered by insurance.

All donations are appreciated and, if you are unable to give anything, a share and a prayer is always appreciated. God bless you all.
