Kristen Meyers, Heart Warrior

Please keep Kristen in your prayers and send positive vibes her way.  She has been very ill since last Thursday, November 21st and is still in the cardiac unit of Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse.  She has been diagnosed with Endocarditis, which is an infection in her blood that is attacking her artificial valve in her heart. Thankfully, as it turns out (so far) she does  not require emergency surgery to replace the valve.  However, she’s not out of the woods yet. She still has several weeks of recovery time, as she will require a pic line and a steady feed of antibiotics through an IV for 6-8 weeks, which she will carry with her in a backpack-type unit.  She will of course be under restrictions, but she wants to get back on her feet to return to college classes at Viterbo where she is currently a Junior, pursuing a career in Education. She also would love to be able to return to work.  She's been holding down two jobs, while attending clases.  She was supposed to start a new job next week at Chileda working with children with special needs, as this is her dream...helping others...especially children. She feels it's her calling. :) but that might have to be put on hold for a bit.
It’s been a rough week thus far with a tough road ahead. However, we have no doubt our Warrior, Kristen is up for the challenge! What can we do to help besides thoughts, prayers and positive vibes? Well, we can help take the burden off of her a bit by helping her cover day-to-day expenses such as rent, car payment, car insurance, phone bill, electricity, etc..basic living expenses. That way, she can concentrate on nothing but getting better and getting out there to help others! Thank you in advance for any amount you can contribute to help take the burden off Kristen and her loved ones!
