In mid-August 2023, Kristen’s doctor found a large mass on her right ovary and quickly scheduled surgery for removal. During surgery on August 28, multiple malignant masses were removed and Kristen underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy. She is home recovering for a few weeks before chemotherapy treatments begin later in September.

Kristen and Monte are confident in God’s goodness in and through all circumstances and believe that the community of people coming around them in this difficult time are one of the ways He is showing up for them.
