hiii If you don’t know me my name is Aly and Kristen is my best friend! As some of you have may have heard on Sunday (feb.5) Kristen was shot by her ex-boyfriend and the father of her two daughters in her front yard, while her kids (Kamden(12), Kinsley(3), and Kaylie(almost 2) were just inside the house.
Although he was aiming for her face Kristen turned around in time for him to hit in her back and left arm instead … leaving her with a shattered arm and a bullet that’s less then an inch from her heart.
Kristen underwent an over 4 hour long surgery yesterday morning, the surgeon was able to use steel rods, plates, and donor tissue to reconstruct her arm. She is unable to use her left arm or hand but today she received a special brace for her hand to help her get the muscles moving again and start on the road to recovery. The piece of the bullet next to her heart however remain there, for now.
Not only does she have an extremely painful, long road of recovery ahead of her, (if you know her, you know she’s tougher then most and she’s got this,) buuuut I know she could use our help! Between being out of work for an unforeseen amount of time, ambulance bills, air flight bills, surgery bills, regular daily living expenses for her and her three kids, and not being able to use her left arm - things are going to get tough.
