Dear Friends,

In the face of our recent loss, we are reaching out for your support. Kristen lost her battle with cancer, leaving us with the responsibility of arranging her farewell. She passed away peacefully in hospice on January 6th. Kristen had a fighting spirit, she loved Betty Boop and elephants. Kristen discovered she had late-stage cancer in June of 2023. Following her diagnosis, she had both kidneys removed and began dialysis 3 days a week. The year previous to her diagnosis she suffered debilitating back pain which interfered with her ability to work as a house painter.

We've set up this GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses and create a scholarship fund for her 17-year-old son, Vincent. His father passed away just a year ago, and we are determined to provide him with a brighter future through education.

Vincent is a high school senior planning to attend college in the fall of 2024. He is considering studying psychology. He is a hardworking young man who excels in school. He is passionate about fitness, and has overcome tremendous adversity. In November of 2023, Vincent was voted "Student of the Day". It was noted that teachers were continually impressed by his empathy and compassion for his peers. Anytime he encounters another student who is having a hard time he stops, offers kind words, advice and just an ear.

We are hoping to have a service by 1/19/23.
