Kristen Brickey (mother of Christian Graves)

Christian came into our lives when he and my son met at Einstein Middle School in 7th grade. They became good friends, and have remained friends through and after High School. They leaned on each other heavily after the loss of their good friend in Sophomore year. Christian recently lost his mother after a year-long battle in the hospital, due to complications with diabetes. He and his father have been trying to balance their lives with work and caring for their loved one. Christian recently had to use money from his savings account (which he was so proud of having) to start a payment plan for the funeral costs of his mother. Christian, like many young people, have a really hard time asking for help and so I am taking it off his plate and asking on his behalf. If you are able to donate, we would love to raise enough money to help cover the funeral expenses and to help relieve Christian and his father of the financial burdens that they have been working hard to pay. When I asked Christian what he wanted people to know about his mother, he replied "she was one of the kindest people you could ever meet." Christian's eyes light up when he talks about his mother, they had a very special relationship. I know that he and his father will be so appreciative of any amount we are able to raise. I want this child to feel the love of community surrounding him at this very difficult time in his life. Thank you for considering.
