Kristen and Haley need your help

Kristen Hanson’s 15 year old daughter Haley suffered a concussion in volleyball practice on February 7. A few days later, her poor balance caused her to fall down the stairs and hit her head again. Her concussion symptoms and recovery have been atypical and continue to worsen. Since early April, Haley has experienced chronic pain, poor circulation, and nausea. While they’re still waiting for a conclusive diagnosis, it’s likely she has Reflex Neurovascular Dystrophy, which is a chronic pain condition that affects children, potentially brought on by the trauma of the concussion. More tests are needed for a conclusive diagnosis before treatment can start to relieve Haley’s pain.
Kristen is a single mom who balances her full-time job at General Mills with Haley’s various medical appointments and reduced school schedule at Academy of Holy Angels. Her HSA contributions can’t keep up with the medical bills for Haley’s necessary appointments with neurologists, rheumatologists, pediatricians, physical therapists and more are piling up. She’s still thousands of dollars away from her out of pocket max. Kristen is somehow finding time in all of this to pet sit on evenings and weekends to help bring in extra money.
Whether you count Kristen as family, friend, coworker, or even acquaintance, two things about her are abundantly clear: she is a wonderful and devoted mother to her daughter, and she has the biggest heart. She is always the first to volunteer to help a friend or family member. She has worked her way up at General Mills, starting as a temp almost twenty years ago to her role now in Global Workplace Solutions. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, sense of humor, and work ethic are second to none. She is doing everything she possibly can to help Haley through this.
While Kristen helps Haley, we can help Kristen.
She needs our financial contributions to help keep up with Haley’s medical bills and pay for the additional expenses Kristen is incurring in caring for Haley.
Kristen has proven time and time again that she will do anything for her family and her friends. Now’s our chance to pay her back. Please consider a financial donation to help Kristen and Haley. We are asking for the total of Kristen’s health insurance out of pocket max.
Thank you!
