Krista's Heart Battle: A Mother's Journey

Hi everyone.

I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Krista Turner, because she would never ask for this herself. But right now, she truly needs the love, prayers, and support of her village. ❤️

Just a few weeks after starting the process of buying her first home for her and her 6-year-old daughter, Krista received the devastating diagnosis of congestive heart failure. What was originally supposed to be a fairly immediate surgery has now been pushed out until the end of July with new things needed to be operated on. Leaving her in a very fragile state physically, emotionally, and financially.

Krista is currently wearing a life vest defibrillator 23 hours a day, which monitors her heart and can shock it if needed. Between managing her heart condition, single parenting an energetic little girl, and caring for her elderly grandmother a few nights a week, she’s carrying a load that most of us can’t even imagine. And while she remains positive, strong, and faith-filled …. the reality is: this is hard.

Because of her condition, she’s unable to work like she normally would this summer, yet her mortgage, bills, and everyday life don’t pause. Her greatest concern is simply being able to keep things stable for her daughter while she focuses on getting through surgery and healing afterward.

Krista has always been the one to show up for others - she’s shared her story of addiction recovery, single motherhood, and personal growth openly to help and inspire so many people. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
