I'm raising money to help with the cost of recording my debut album of original music- something I've been wanting to do for a very, very long time! I am SO excited to finally bring this project to life and share it with all of you.
The album is a collection of 13 songs I have written over the course of the past 20 years, none of which have ever been recorded in any format beyond a few cell-phone videos I have posted to my YouTube channel.
Making this album is important to me because I have been working as a professional musician my entire adult life, but I have never before had the courage to share my original music with others in this way. For years, I wrote songs only for myself to help cope with things that happened, and only shared them with a few close friends. This album marks the emergence of my own voice, and the confidence to finally share my songs and stories with the world.
All funds raised will go directly toward paying the bill for recording at the studio with a professional engineer ($5600 total for the entire project), as well as paying band members for their time and talents. I have been paying as much of my own money as I possibly can, but I will need some help to be able to complete the project.
In return for your donations, you will receive my eternal gratitude and probably also some pretty excellent karma points for being awesome and supporting an independent artist! I will be sure to notify everyone who donates when the album is released so you can listen to OUR creation. I can't wait!

Q: Who's recording the album?
A: Legendary industry veteran Robert Honablue!! He has earned over 70 certified RIAA platinum records with artists such as Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Barbra Streisand, and many, many more. Throughout his nearly 50-year career, has has previously worked for CBS Records in New York, Motown Recording Studios in Los Angeles, and many others. He now operates his own studio and engineering school here in Sacramento called New Sac Academy, which is where the album will be recorded. I feel so lucky to be working with him and to know that my dream project is in expert hands!

Q: Who's in the band?
A: ALL OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE!! No seriously, though I am so lucky to have this group of musicians for the album! They are:
Aaron Gayden - bass
Michael Noche - guitar
Alvin Henry - drums
I've been working with all of these insanely talented musicians in Aaron's band (AGB!!) for about the past 15 years. They are genuinely the most amazingly skilled musicians, and also the kindest, sweetest, hardest working, most humble people I've ever met in my life. I feel so lucky to be able to work with them on my original music!

Q: What genre is your music?
A: I have affectionately dubbed my genre "sad girl piano music," and the album is a journey of longing, hope, sadness, anger, confusion, grief, and all of the emotions and ups and downs that make us all human. It is vulnerable, honest, and authentic, and I think that many people will find it relatable. I hope it will help people feel less alone in whatever they have gone through in their own lives.
