Kristal Brooks Memorial Fund

Our dear friend Brittney Wunder and her brother Zack Brooks are facing a loss no one should ever have to endure, the passing of their mom, Kristal Brooks.

After suffering an anoxic brain injury, Kristal spent five long months in the hospital, fighting with everything she had. On July 11th, Kristal passed away. She leaves behind two heartbroken children, Brittney Wunder and Zack Brooks, who loved her beyond words and are now faced with the unimaginable, saying goodbye while navigating the emotional and financial burden that comes with loss.

If you knew Kristal, you knew she was a force of nature. A true firecracker, full of spirit, sass, and stories that could light up any room. She had a laugh that echoed and a presence that couldn’t be ignored. Above all, she loved her children fiercely and unconditionally. Brittney and Zack were her entire world.

During Kristal’s time in the hospital, Brittney traveled to multiple facilities across counties and missed a significant amount of work to be by her mom’s side, often without paid time off. This has only added to the financial strain she’s now facing in the wake of Kristal’s passing.
