Krista's kick cancer's butt fundraiser

Krista Goldsberry has been a business owner in Des Moines and Iowa City for twenty years now, a leader in the LGBT business community. Like so many businesses both city wide and along the Ingersoll district , her salon was impacted by the Covid 19 shutdown.
Krista and her team at G Spot Hair design had been monitoring the situation, and a couple of weeks after the state opened up, had decided they were comfortable enough to open the salon again, in accordance with the State’s Covid guidelines.
They planned a soft reopening for June 16, and had started bringing in clients for appointments.
As with many businesses, they are still waiting on the economic stimulus payments from Small Business Administration as well as receipt of conventional unemployment payments.
Krista had been feeling off for a month or so. As the salon was opening, Krista started feeling unwell. A few days later, June 23rd she went to the Emergency Room, and the diagnosis was Cancer. Two days after that, less than 48 hours after diagnosis, yesterday June 25, she underwent surgery. Krista is currently in recovery and the doctors are "cautiously optimistic" so far.
Krista's son Calvin is currently staying with his other mother in Iowa City. Friends are caring for the cat Bandito and his friend the hedgehog Pete.
Her friends and family are collecting funds to help Krista with her expenses as she focuses on getting well again. Your donation will help reduce the stress on Krista, and help her to focus on recovery and ongoing Cancer treatment.
At this time, please don't call or visit Krista at the hospital. We want her to get some rest, and will let you know when she is ready for calls and visitors.
We will post updates as we move forward with Krista on her journey.
