Krista Pollack and Heidi “Galloping for Gold”

My story starts like any other, a young girl with a crazy, passionate love for horses that never faded or waivered. Together, Heidi and I are a true Canadian underdog story that most of us can relate to.

As a rider, who has had 12 concussions, I was told to stop riding. My horse, Heidi, whom nobody wanted, was angry, shut down, with crooked legs with poor confirmation and was told she would never hold up to the elite training demands. Before I took over, our facility had some of Ontario's worst animal abuse and neglect cases.

Now, KP Dressage, our facility, is a place of tranquility and beauty where all horses thrive. Heidi, over time, came to trust me, and our bond and partnership grew. We are a story of resilience, determination and a solid harmonious partnership. As a rider, I have achieved E.C. level 2 Dressage coach and NCCP level 3, 2008 OEF Coach of the Year and the 2013 Equine Canada Coach of the Year and have successfully competed at the Grand Prix level.

I am following my passion to take Heidi and myself to the highest level of equine achievement possible; the Olympics. The money raised for Heidi and I will be spent on equine transportation, board, feed, supplements, show fees, coaching, farrier and vet bills

Heidi and I are a true Canadian Underdog Story with the odds stacked against us. We will be in Florida this winter to compete at the Grand Prix level in Dressage. After Florida, our goal is to qualify for the Canadian Equine team and compete in the Pan Am Games in Chile in autumn 2023 and ultimately qualify to compete at the Olympics, for Canada, in Paris, France in 2024.
