Krissy's Friends 2022 Backpack Fundraiser

The Monet Richardson Community Foundation can't be more excited to gear up for our 2nd annual Backpack Fundraiser in collaboration with the YMCA Y-Learning Program!

 

Our goal has two efforts which include providing for children in underserved populations as well as carrying out the legacy of Krissy. The Monet Richardson Community Foundation focuses on the underserved population of North Carolina with an emphasis on education, social justice, youth engagement, and empowerment. To provide each child listed in the Y-Learning Program a backpack filled with necessary supplies for academic success.

The capacity for Orange County students is 150 backpacks and for Edgecombe County students 100 backpacks. This information is provided to the YMCA Y-Learning Programs by the Social Workers in each county yearly. These numbers pertain to the 2022-2023 school year in grades K-5. For every $50 donation, a backpack can be purchased and filled with the necessary supplies for a child in an underserved community.
