Kris' Long Road

On Monday, March 28th my buddy Kris was getting ready for a day of work when he suddenly collapsed from a ruptured brain aneurysm (technically known as subarachnoid hemorrage). He was rushed into emergency surgery where the surgeons were able to temporaily stop the bleeding and make repairs to 85% of the aneurysm. He is currently awaiting the second surgery to complete the repair, but is fighting off complications due to the rupture and sugery, incuding decreased kidney functions (which threaten his transplanted kidney) and respiratory distress which requires that he remain on a respirator while under heavy sedation.
Like most of us blue collar guys, who either swing a hammer or turn a wrench, his livelihood depends upon his health. As a small business owner, who lives paycheck to paycheck, he has always been heavily involved in the physical aspect of running the business (aka swinging the hammer).
Its going to be quite some time before Kris is out swinging a hammer again. Though his wife, Ellen, and kids, Alex and Tyler, are still working hard to provide for one another, as well as friends and family doing their best to lend a helping hand, the bills are still piling up. Being the proud guy that he is, when he finds out I did this he's gunna throw me a beating, so the more money we raise, the bigger the ass kicking I get (LOL).
We've spent the last 35 years riding motorcycles together up and down the east coast, as well as spending all of our summer vacations and holidays together. He is my best friend. He's given the shirt off of his back more times than anyone can count. I'm worried about keeping him and his family whole, and for that reason I'm asking for your help. So please, anything you could throw our way would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, looking forward to the biggest ass whooping I've ever gotten in my life.
Peace&Love
