Kris Pay's brain tumour battle

Donation protected
Update 09.08.2025 - Kris has been fitted for his radiotherapy mask and we are prepping for 5 days a week for 6 weeks of treatment. But first we are taking a short break away to Norfolk to give us some downtime before treatment ramps up. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, we cannot tell you how much it means!

Hi,

My name is Sam. This fund raiser is for Kris who is my fiancee and father to our amazing 5 year old son Max and his brilliant daughter Freya who is 12.

7 weeks ago, Kris was living a normal life. Out of the blue, he had a seizure, we went to A&E thinking he would be told he got too hot that day and referred off just in case he may have developed epilepsy. Unfortunately after a CT scan, we were told it was a lesion on the brain and he had to be admitted immediately.

He stayed in hospital for over a week until he was referred to Addenbrookes hospital Neurosurgery. We met the surgeon, who told us Kris had a tumour between speech and motor skills part of his brain. This meant that his surgery would involve being woken up mid surgery and having his brain stimulated by electrodes to determine which parts they can cut to remove the tumour. Kris was woken up, asked to identify pictures of his kids and talk to a psychologist whilst the surgeon worked out where they could cut. His speech stopped on the lowest setting of stimulation. They made the decision they could not cut any of the tumour, but they needed to biopsy at the very least. They managed to enter from another angle to gain two biopsies.

Kris woke up scared and disorientated. He had no speech at all. As of today, 2 and a half weeks later, his speech is limited but hoping to come back. He said I love you today which was everything.

Last week, we received the devastating news that Kris has a fast growing stage 4 cancerous tumour known as a Glioblastoma. Best case scenario he has another 12 months even with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We haven't worked out how to break the news to our 5 year old.

Ever since we have been trying to find some way to extend, if not cure this terrible disease.

We found an amazing guy who has been through this diagnosis and treatment. He was given a year, 3 years later he is cancer free and tumour free. This is due to a series of "vaccines" formulated in Germany. The clinic in Germany develops injectable treatment that is completely formulated based on your tumour's genetic makeup. It is a series of vaccines over the course of many months, all administered in Germany.

We are fundraising to get Kris through the process and out to the other side where we can breathe again and enjoy life with our children. We hope this will work so Kris can watch his children grow up.

We need to raise £100k to cover both the treatment and travel expenses for the multiple trips and stays in Germany.

Any help, no matter how small, to give Kris the chance to access this incredible treatment would mean the world to me and his children.

Thank you so much from all of his family
