As most of you may know, members of the Obligar family have tested positive for COVID-19. Kris has been hit the worst and is currently in the ICU hooked up to a ventilator to support her breathing. Kris is immunocompromised so this virus is really taking a toll on her body.
Over the 4th of July weekend, Kris was taken to the ER via ambulance. They gave her fluids, an inhaler, a COVID-19 test, and then released her. The next day, her results came back positive. Fast forward to Tuesday, July 7th, Kris had to go back to the ER because her O2 levels were too low and she was struggling to catch her breath. The oxygen levels they were giving her weren't working, so early Thursday morning they had to transfer her to the ICU and connect her to a ventilator. Later, after sedating her didn't work with the body's natural instinct to remove the invasive tubes from the lungs, they had to use a medication called vecuronium to completely paralyze her muscles so the ventilator could do its job.
Between the ambulance fees, overnight stays at the hospital, and all the additional medical costs, the financial burden is the last thing the family needs to deal with right now. This money will also help ensure the Obligar family has meals, supplies, and whatever else they need while quarantining and waiting this out. If you know Ianna, you know she is doing everything in her power to take care of each and every one of her family members. Since so many folks have been reaching out and asking how they can help, we've set up this GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial burden.
*Please note that we aren't expecting to hit the actual $20,000 goal - we are more than happy with however much is given.
