Kris King's Final Fairwell

Hi,

My name is Wanda Higgs, I'm fundraising for the Final Farewell expenses for a special nephew, Kris King who was one of the kindest, sweetest soul you could ever meet. He is my brother, Lou's, son. Kriswas only 38 years old. Kris was born June 25, 1984 and his birthday was only 24 days away.

Kris passed away at work of a heart attack on June 1st. Unfortunately, Kris has not had this job for very long so there was no chance of health or life insurance. Kris had had some recent medical problem and had been out of work for a while due to an accident, so money has been a problem for a while and no chance to build any kind of savings but he had never been diagnosed with any kind of heart problems.

His sister Kimberly who will be handling everything since his parents are still in a state of shock, put this out there about the family:

"It breaks my heart to post this but we lost my brother, Kris King today unexpectedly.

Me and my family are going to need a variety of help and support to navigate through this. It’s really fresh, and we are waiting to see if he had any life insurance through work, although he just started recently, and all of my parents are coming together to try and figure things out but I know it’s going to be a struggle not just mentally/emotionally but financially too.

Any advice, kind words or encouraging or guidance is appreciated during this tough time. I don’t know how to navigate this.

They are planning to cremate Kris and do a Celebration of Life Memorial hopefully in a park on his birthday to help keep the cost down. Even the unexpected cost of that is more than the family has on hand.

I check the internet for the average cost of cremation in MD since I had no idea and the Average Cremation Costs in the USA site for MD it is between $1,050 – $7,000. I looked at how they broke it down and you even have to pay a transportation fee for delivering him to a funeral home for the cremation to be done. And, of course, just like clothes and every thing else, you have to pay extra for larger sizes. The $1,050 is the average for the simple transport and cremation. It goes up according to any service, vessel for the remains and burial. However, I didn't see any date on the site to tell me the year this estimate was for and it seems like everything has gone up since covid.

I hope you will join me in saying prayers for Kris and the family. I hope you can also join with me in donating for Kris's final fairwell. No amount is to small. As I tell my kids when I still bend to pick up pennies, they become dollars and that it all counts.
