August 3rd, 2020 is a day Kris will never forget. He woke up with a pounding headache, felt weak, tired, and even slept in until about noon. Kris figured this feeling would pass and so he got ready for his work shift. Within 15 minutes of being at work, Kris started to have projectile vomiting. He then knew something wasn’t right.
Kris arrived at Gulf Coast Medical Center and of course, during this COVID season, only the patient was allowed in. Kris said he remembered the nurses taking his vitals and immediately being put in a room. Everything happened so fast, one minute they were putting in an IV, the next minute he was getting multiple CT scans and MRIs completed. He kept thinking, "wow they are moving quick but through it all GOD GOT ME."
A little later that day, the doctor came to speak to Kris to inform him of his ever-changing destiny… Kris's brain was bleeding and there was a tumor growing on the left side of his brain which was later said to be brain cancer. As he was admitted for observation with pending brain surgery the next day, reality for him started to kick in. Early Wednesday morning, the doctor went over the risk and benefits of the surgery including, possibly not being able to walk, talk, or even see. With his faith being large and his understanding of God's will running through his mind all he could think was, it is what it is because GOD GOT ME!
Kris had Brain Surgery on August 5th, 2020. The next few days he was recovering in ICU which for him was a real eye-opener for the journey God has chosen for him and putting him through. Fast forward to August 28th, 2020 on Kris's post-operation follow-up. It was then he discovered that the kind of brain cancer he had was High Grade Astrocytoma, being treated as Stage 4 Brain Cancer. The type of cancer Kris has is considered rare. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation every day and holding up by the prayers and positive comments of others.
To get through this chapter, Kris will need your help. Kris would love to attend a 3-week alternative cancer treatment in Mexico. Hope 4 Cancer offers multi-dimensional recovery programs, designed to empower patients. They offer safe, non-toxic treatment plans to fight cancer cells while strengthening the patient, both physically and emotionally. Please visit www.kriskickscancer.com for further details and treatment breakdown. Believe me when I say $1.00 won’t go unnoticed and even if you’re not able, posting this link to friends and family goes a long way. Thank you so much and God bless.
