I'm Marina, Kris' sister-in-law, and I'm here to tell Kris' story and ask you for assistance.

For about a year Kris was having a variety of symptoms including, but not limited to, headache, hearing loss, nausea, vomiting, and vertigo. He was seeing a doctor and being treated for sinus issues, but as the symptoms persisted and progressed Kris sought a second opinion.

Thankfully, he was sent for a CT scan and the instant those results made it to the doctor Kris was called and told to go to Foothills ER immediately. Within 24hrs a MRI confirmed a 5cm brain tumour behind his ear, at the base of his skull. Kris was admitted to neurology and planning began for a 12-14 hour surgery that came with host of risks and possible long term side effects.

Six days later Kris underwent surgery like a rockstar. It went well with no major complications, they're confident they got whole tumor, and he'll be in the hospital for at least a week post surgery as the side effects and inflammation subside. Thankfully, Kris's Mom, Jacquie, has been training for this her whole life and hasn't left his side being an amazing patient advocate. When he's ready to leave the hospital Kris will go his parents house for a few weeks until he's ready to return to Banff. It's expected he'll be off work about 2 months.

I'm raising money to help Kris with his regular life expenses that won't go away while he's recovering and to help reimburse his parents for their extra expenses during this time (hospital parking, fuel, and food). They are working on applying for medical EI, but unfortunately Kris has to burn through all his vacation time before he's eligible, and even then it won't be his full wage.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Kris and his family would like to thank everyone for all their continued prayers and support this past week, and a big shout out goes to the amazing neurosurgery team at the Foothills hospital.
