Kris Hayward's Legacy: A Future for His Children

This is a fundraiser to honor the memory of Kris Hayward - a Florida wrestling icon, National Wrestling Hall-of-Fame Florida Chapter Coach, mentor, friend, and father figure to many people. Kris has touched the lives of countless young men and women, using wrestling and education as a vehicle to improve their outlook and set them on a path for future success.

A native of Indiana, Kris and his family moved to Sarasota, FL in the mid-1980s where he was a standout on Ron Jones' State Championship teams. He later went on to compete for Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he became a 2x NCAA All-American. After graduation, he developed State Championship level programs at Lake Region High School in Lakeland; Riverdale High School in Ft. Myers; and later North Ft. Myers High School.

As long-time educators, Kris, along with his wife Vicki, have long envisioned and prepared their own children, Karson and Kasey, for college. The funds raised from this endeavor will help ensure that dream becomes a reality!
