Friends and Family, my name is Hannah Johnson and I am fundraising on behalf of my dad, Kris Svendsen.

 

Kris has been experiencing symptoms of his Multiple myeloma since May 2020, he was officially diagnosed in September of 2020.

This realization resulted in nearly a 2 years of Chemo and other treatments.

 

Kris and his family have been residents of Lassen county since 1998 when he moved to Susanville to mange the local Safeway. Since then Kris has been an active member of the community. He utilized his position at Safeway to help others and better our community. He could always be counted on to make shopping more fun, whether that was his “sweetheart checkout lane” while wearing a Cupid costume on Valentine’s Day, doing cartwheels when people donated to a charity, or his general goofiness. During his Safeway days, and since, he also can be found as a familiar face reffing basketball games. He is an energetic loving person who always strives to lighten the mood in his environment.

 

As Kris works his way through his cancer treatment he has strived to stay working. During the main course of his treatment he utilized his time on disability and is now gearing up for a bone marrow transplant.

This treatment will require him, and his wife Glenda, to remain in isolation in a hotel close to UC Davis for at least two months.

 

We are seeking help to cover medical bills and cost of living during this time. Every little bit helps Thank you for being a blessing!
