Team In Training - Beat Cancer!

It's time to kick cancer's ass!

I ran my first half marathon in 2009. Then I gave birth to twins in 2010. It has been on my bucketlist for four years to run a half marathon post pregnancy. Two months ago, I decided I didn't have what it takes. Well, I found my motivation and I'm determined to run every step of the way.

Last week someone dear to my heart was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer.  This week he underwent a successful brain surgery to remove the first tumor, and today he started radiation to shrink the second brain tumor. In a few weeks, he will undergo chemo followed by more surgeries. He has a long road ahead but he is driven to beat cancer with a positive attitude. He is my inspiration!

On May 31, I will run the Rock n' Roll San Diego Half Marathon in his honor.  Cancer may have started his fight, but together, we will finish it.

I will train for the 13-mile run as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training (TNT). In order to fulfill my team commitment, I must raise a minimum of $2900 to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. However, if I make a donation through my company's Intranet, they will do a 100 percent match. My goal is to raise $2000 via GoFundMe and have my company match it for a total of $4000.

Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without cancer.
