Hope For Amy!
This is Our Amy Nevins Pettenato! She is a lifelong friend from when we met in North East Elementary
School in Brentwood, NY
Amy is in the fight of her life She needs us!
Amy’s fight began in May 2019 when she went for her routine mammogram
and got the Call to come back immediately,
when she got the dreaded news !!! It's CANCER
She underwent a grueling 11 hour double
Mastectomy with reconstruction spent 3
Days ICU with complications
Not only Does she have this Cancer diagnosis, Amy
suffers from a liver Disease called
Hyperoxaluria for over 20 years! That has caused her major complications.
3 weeks after surgery Amy suffered another
devastating blow her Kidneys shut down
She now needs dialysis four times a week until they can find a kidney/liver transplant
this can’t be done until she completes her
chemotherapy treatments!
Amy comes from a family of 5 children!!
Her poor parents have lost 3 of the 5!
This just
shouldn’t be!
In the past 11 years she lost her beloved
siblings !
Her youngest Sister JENNIFER lost her
battle with the same kidney disease at age 37!
Her Brother STEVEN is a cancer Survivor
passed from a massive heart attack at age
54!
Her Brother BILLY passed away from cancer
at age 56!
This just shouldn’t happen! She and Her
sister Allison are all there parents have!
Amy is married to a wonderful man Mike
who has taken over at the home helping
with daily chores and activities and making sure Amy can rest
and get to treatments 5 days a week!!
Amy has one Beautiful Daughter Angelina
she is 14 and has become Amy’s Rock! She is
such a wonderful daughter she is super
positive and lifts her mom daily!
Amy has a very long road ahead of her She
needs to complete chemotherapy
and continue dialysis 4 days a week
and start the fight to find donors!
Once found she needs to go though more
treatments for the rest of her life.
Amy had to stop working because of all her
illness has made her so weak and unable to work
She plans to go back after Chemo is
completed!
She is hopeful to get Accepted to MAYO
clinic’s transplant program in Minnesota
This is going to be a huge Financial strain
on her family she will need to travel to and
from NY to Minnesota
We all pray everyday that she gets into MAYO and
gets a DONOR This however can be a long wait causing so much stress
With This Campaign WE are Hopeful she will get the
FUNDS ARE NEEDED FOR HER AND HER
FAMILY !

ordeal
She wasn’t going to share her journey but,
chose to bring awareness to Cancer!
She shares her journey week after week her ups and downs she is a true inspiration!

A few months ago Amy way in a Local
Diner with her Family right after she had
Shaved her hair!
She noticed a family next to her looking at
her, The mom from the family Approached
Amy confiding in her that she’s been through the same battle of breast cancer
after a positive Conversation between the Women the family left.
Amy went to pay there bill They were told
that family had paid for there meal!
Amy was so touched by this But, felt sad
because she didn’t get Women’s name!
Amy posted this experience to Facebook
with the hopes They could find Her “Angel”
This story was shared so many times Her
“Angel” was found!
The two have become friends ! They share hope for recovery!!
I told Amy that this journey will bring some
amazing people into her life and help lift her
when she needs that!
