Her story in her words:

In 2014, during my first job interview, I was asked where I saw myself in five years. With unwavering certainty, I replied, "Pursuing a master's degree." My dream was clear: to make a profound impact on public policy in Nepal. Though it's already been 10 years since that interview, and despite various circumstances, I finally have the opportunity to pursue the Master of Science in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation (MSc MISDI) program at London School of Economics and Political Science, a critical step towards achieving my goal.

My journey has been marked by perseverance and sacrifice. My mother was the breadwinner growing up, while my father dedicated himself to social work and politics. Despite significant scholarships through high school and college, our family’s financial situation has always been a challenge. After my father’s unexpected passing in 2018 and my mother’s retirement, I took care of my mother, deferring my studies until now.

Throughout my career in Nepal’s development sector, I have worked extensively in public policy, focusing on advocating for stakeholder engagement in policy formulation, especially the marginalized communities. The MSc MISDI program at LSE will equip me with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive meaningful change in the public policy field through technology and innovation.

I was recently shortlisted for the Chevening scholarship, and for a moment, my dream of studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) felt within reach. However, I received a rejection email from them last week. This has put my dream of pursuing higher education in jeopardy.

Adding to my distress, I cannot take out personal loans due to my existing financial burdens. I am already responsible for the monthly payments of previous loans, making it almost impossible to secure another one. Despite these challenges, I am still exploring every possible avenue, applying for every meager bursaries and considering borrowing from lenders. However, none of these options are guaranteed, and the amount I need to raise is substantial.

Therefore, I turn to your support to make this dream a reality. Without adequate funds, I cannot pursue my education. I am aiming to raise £52,968 ($67,018) to cover my tuition and living expenses.

Here’s a breakdown of the costs:

Tuition: £36168 ($45,600)

Living expenses including accommodation, travel, food, laundry, study costs, and other personal expenses: £16800 (£1400 per month)

Total: £52,968 ($67,018)

I need to raise at least £36,168 ($45,600) by the end of July in time to apply for my student visa to the UK.
