Lorenzo Rodriguez Ortiz is now 63 years old. In 1991, he was in a tragic car accident that left him with severe injuries, and doctors had to amputate his right leg above the thigh. His wife was also in the accident and later diagnosed with a rare blood disease, similar to lupus. For that reason, along with her medication, prevented them from having children.
For over 20 years, Lorenzo has relied on the same prosthetic, which has caused him painful skin injuries and cysts that required surgery. Unfortunately, he is retired without insurance. He has no access to a new, high-quality prosthetic that would improve his mobility and quality of life. We are raising $8,000 to cover the cost of a new prosthetic.
My uncle is a kind, friendly, and hardworking man who deserves the chance to move without pain and regain his independence. Every donation, no matter how small, brings him one step closer to a better life.
