Eric’s Fight for Life…Let’s do This!
Many people every day get diagnosed with cancer; however, we all know the raw pain we feel when it’s a dear friend. It was confirmed for Eric Broyles that he’s in the late stages of Esophogeal Cancer. The thing I love about my dear friend, is that he is a fighter, and I truly believe, no one should fight alone.
Eric has chosen to take a more integrative, and proven method of treatment. Although he has a plan, he will need assistance with the many costs not covered by Medicaid. Over the next few days, he is scheduled to have a feeding tube inserted, and his life will change even more. I will gladly share more details if you reach out to me, but my goal is to make this request short and to the point. For those of us that know Eric, he is the “kicking man” on the dance floor. He loves life. Let’s get him back there.
He currently has negotiated a plan with his doctor of $50 each treatment session, and depending on transportation, and his daily health status, hopes for around five treatments a week. As stated, he does need transportation to do this, and the best option is for him to have a car.
At this time, we believe his out-of-pocket medical expenses to guesstimate at $2,000 monthly. This of course will vary depending on how his treatment journey is proceeding.
Some great musicians have volunteered a day to do a music fundraising event this November 7th, but let’s band together and see what we can offer immediately, because as we all know, money stress is real. Let’s not let that be the roadblock.
All money given through here will go to the cost of medical expenses and transportation when needed. (If you can possibly assist with a vehicle for him, please let me know!)
Thank you for taking the time to read this request. Please give as you can, and make plans to come to our fundraising event - more details will come via the Doug Belford Experience Facebook page.
Humans were meant to help each other in times of need, and this is definitely one.
