Help Tom go to Drama School

Hi everyone, I have been performing since a young age and have gained a true passion in college for the arts. For the last two years I have been training at Worcester Sixth Form College where my skills have grown and I have been cast in several different shows including Chicago, The Threepenny Opera and Heathers. After several months of auditioning for various drama schools, I have received and accepted my offer at PPA (Performance Preparation Academy) in Guildford, Surrey. This is a three-year BA Hons degree course in Musical Theatre which I am extremely excited to be undertaking in September 2023.Getting into a drama school without having to do a foundation course is a major triumph on my behalf and I am extremely proud of what I have achieved so far but I know the hard work is only just beginning. I would love to spend the next three years training here although the course and expenses are pushing my finances to the limit. Being a drama school, the fees are £10,500 which are over the government student loan of £9,250 and the accommodation in Guildford is expensive for first year students. I have secured a maintenance loan towards some of the accommodation costs and am hoping to be able to transfer my part time work from Worcester to Guildford to enable to support myself, but this will still leave me with some shortfall. As you know the arts and theatre are very underfunded. I have applied for a bursary with PPA but nothing is guaranteed, there are no other bursaries or scholarships I can apply for but I will work as many part time hours as I can in between my hours at drama school. I am hoping with this page, I can fund my dreams of training at PPA and my ultimate goals of performing on stage. Thank you for reading this and please share with anyone with a love of the theatre and the arts.
