Rebuilding Belmont, St. James Jamaica

I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart but also with the unwavering belief in the power of community and human kindness. Recently, Hurricane Melissa devastated many communities including, Belmont, a beautiful neighborhood in St. James, Jamaica, leaving countless families without homes, food, and essential resources. Among those affected is my beloved Mom, who has lived in Belmont most of her life and has always opened her door to those in need.

The morning after the storm, their neighborhood was unrecognizable. Trees that once danced in the breeze were uprooted, homes that stood strong for decades were reduced to mere rubble, and the vibrant spirit of the community was shattered. Families are currently without electricity with no roof above their heads and no way to rebuild their lives without support.

This campaign aims to raise funds to help the wonderful people of Belmont begin the long and challenging process of recovery. The money raised will go directly toward:

1. Immediate Needs: Providing food, clean water, medical supplies, and hygiene products to families who have lost everything.

2. Rebuilding Homes: Assisting families in repairing and rebuilding their homes so they can return to a safe and secure environment.

3. Support for the Vulnerable: Many families, including children and the elderly, are in dire situations. We want to ensure that no one gets left behind, especially those most vulnerable.
