On August 17th, 2019 John Purcell went to the hospital with abdominal pain. Ten days later at the age of 56 he was gone forever. Vickie his wife of 15 years had to make the unimaginable decision to turn off the machines that were keeping him alive. She laid down beside him and just sobbed as he took his final breaths. This family will be forever changed. He left behind his mother, wife, three children, two grandchildren, his brother and countless others who loved him dearly. John was an amazing man full of life and humor that would light up every room. He was the rock of his family. His kindness was endless. He spent the last year of his life remodeling a home to perfection for his mother. Vickie now bares the responsibility of caring for her family and supporting them through this heartbreaking loss as she grieves herself . Instead of being able to take the time to grieve and process this loss Vickie has been overwhelmed and humbled with the reality of what is ahead of her. She must sell their family home because she can't afford it on her own. She suffers type 1 diabetes and no longer has health insurance since John carried the coverage. These are just a couple of examples of what burdens her mind. Please help me support this family and show them the beauty of humanity and provide them with a little time to heal and strengthen as they try to move forward from this sudden tragedy.
