HOPE FOR STEVE.

ALS is an unforgiving disease with no current cure. It results in the death of the neurons that control voluntary muscles. Most people with this disease become bed ridden, losing the ability to eat, move and talk. It ultimately results in death. The average lifespan from onset to death is 3 to 4 years.
What impresses me is the attitude that both Hope and Steve have. I have followed their story for a couple of years now and have been brought to tears numerous times by their unwavering love and commitment to each other. Simply put, they are the definition of what TRUE LOVE is. I cannot imagine being in Hope's position, knowing my days with my husband are numbered. She has dealt with this horrific situation with incredible strength and grace. Steve has also never considered himself a victim, he has been totally selfless, raising money for ALS research and being a champion for his cause.
As I'm sure you know, the medical bills and expenses that accompany this illness are huge. Hope is Steve's round the clock caregiver and because of this, is not able to work. She makes money from home selling her beautiful paintings and Mala bead necklaces. Money should be the LAST thing these two wonderful souls have to worry about. There is major power in numbers so I ask to give whatever you can.
